Real-Time Hardware-In-The-Loop Simulation: Fundamentals & Popular Platforms
This course begins by a free online lecture that covers basic definitions in the field of real-time hardware-in-the-loop simulation as well as popular platforms that are used for real-time simulation. Not available at the moment, the course is intended to continue by remote access to our RT-HIL simulation facility where the course participants attain hands-on experience running RT-HIL simulation. If you are interested to participate in our hands-on training sessions, please sign up below.

Anyone who is interested in real-time simulation and would like to get started!
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Upon completion of the course, you will:
- Gain basic understanding of the common terminology used in the space of RT-HIL simulation
- Become familiar with simulation platforms offered by RTDS, OPAL-RT, and Typhoon HIL
- Gain hands-on experience building and executing RT simulation cases in RTDS and OPAL-RT simulators
- Fundamentals
- What is a system?
- What is modeling? And why do we do modeling?
- What is a simulation? And why do we do simulations?
- What is a real-time (RT) simulation?
- What is a real-time hardware-in-loop (RT-HIL) simulation?
- What is a real-time power hardware-in-the-loop (RT-PHIL) simulation?
